Daniel & Debbie

Married June 11, 2011.
Not many weddings happen in June & July with our southern winters, but it's a pity more couples don't consider it. It is quite cool but unless it is raining, which isn't all that often these days, the conditions are sometimes more favourable than summer. No harsh contrast, no hot sun and easterly wind, no flies! The skies are more dramatic and "magic hour" for photos is not halfway through your reception.

Daniel & Debbie just seemed so at ease and comfortable together and the gentle way they kissed was captured beautifully during the ceremony.

My first wedding at Cypress of Margaret River and I hope it won't be the last. Great venue close to town.

We went to a nearby beach for some photos and then to the dramatic karri forest at Boranup before enjoying the classy reception at Watershed Premium Wines.

Edward & Carly

Edward & Carly
Married April 24, 2011

Wise Winery, Dunsborough.

It was raining when the guests arrived, that annoying drizzle that tricks you into getting wet before you know it. Luckily it stopped before Carly arrived and stayed away, leaving some nice dramatic clouds for photos later. The sun came out right as they were introduced as Mr & Mrs Cross!

What a lovely couple! One of the most fun weddings we've done thanks in no small part to Ed's M.C.
Chris and Best Man, James for keeping everyone entertained at the reception, and of course the fantastic staff at Wise.

Best wishes Ed & Carly for your future arrival. You'll make wonderful parents.

Robert & Kylie

Married April 21, 2011

Ceremony at Laurance of Margaret River
Reception at Duckstein Brewery.

While a 4:15 ceremony is perfect in summer, in late autumn we knew there wouldn't be long for photos before we lost light. It made for some interesting images once it got dark.

The couple were very easy going and it was a pleasure sharing their wedding day.

Ben & Sarah

Married March 25, 2011 at Wise Winery, Dunsborough

I don't think I've ever seen a groom smile as big and as often as Ben. He really was as happy as anyone could be, and why wouldn't he be? Sarah was a sight to behold. Beautiful down to the very last detail.

Their mood on the day was infectious - everyone was smiling. During the speeches, the staff at Wise were engaged as much as the guests, and when Sarah and Ben did their first dance I noticed even the kitchen crew were peeking around the doorway!

Joe & Fleur

Married March 5, 2011

A really lovely couple, Joe and Fleur had their ceremony in Harvey's Our Lady of Immigrants Church with a Nuptial Mass conducted by Fr Bernard.

After a quick detour to Harvey Dam for some family photos, it was off to Bunbury for formal shots at the art gallery and old post office.

Their reception was held at the SW Italian Club.

Kristjan & Philippa

Married February 26, 2011

The plan was to have the ceremony on the beautiful little beach at Castle Rock but when we got there there were waves rolling in and hardly any sand left! Very unusual conditions for this protected spot, so we hastily set up under the trees just in time as the guests arrived all at once on a bus.

Pippa looked fantastic and never stopped smiling despite the intensely hot day.

Their reception was at The Goose next to the Busselton Jetty with very entertaining "Oscars" style speeches by compares Talia & Ben. Great fun.

Mark & Kirsty

Married November 13, 2010

Dardanup's Church of the Immaculate Conception was filled to capacity as we all waited for Kirsty. She arrived in great style in a classic FJ Holden driven by proud father, Mike. After the ceremony the church and surrounds were taken advantage of for some photos, along with the school playground next door, and then to the riverbank behind Kirsty's family home for some shots among the paperbark trees.

Reception was at the Sanctuary Golf Resort and the marquee looked fantastic. I love working here - so close to home and the staff are great.

Luke & Tamika

Married February 12, 2011

A country wedding with the works...there were many firsts for me with this one.
It was the first time we'd "camped out" at a wedding. On Friday afternoon we took the camper trailer to Harvey Dickson's Country Music Centre in the town of Boyup Brook where the wedding was to take place the next day.

In the morning we drove 60km to Manjimup where everyone was getting ready, then back to Boyup to catch the arrivals. The boys arrived on the back of a ute (another first), the bride arrived on horseback (another), and it was the biggest bridal party I'd ever seen!

Tamika sang her vows (yep, another first for me) and it was Kerry's debut on second camera (I gave her the close-ups and reaction shots - no pressure! No auto focus either, good job Kez!).

Finally, it was the first time I shot a wedding where there were three other camera crews to compete with. This wedding will feature on "Four Weddings", a competition/reality show which will screen later this year on 7 & GWN7.

Good luck Tamika & Luke, we hope you win!

Caleb & Stephanie

January 8, 2011

Last year I did Caleb's sister Felicity's wedding and was disappointed that I was already booked when asked to do Caleb & Steph's wedding, so I asked Greg Kings (Kingway Video) if he could shoot for me.

After a windy ceremony conducted by Caleb's father, Allan and some location photos around Bunbury, a reception was held at the Koombana Bay Sailing Club.

Caleb and Stephanie's sense of fun and humour is apparent in this highlights clip.

Michael & Aimee

January 8, 2011

On a bright summer's day in the rose garden at Laurance Winery overlooking the lake, high school sweethearts Michael and Aimee tied the knot before a large group of family and friends. Photos were taken in the beautiful grounds of the private residence of the winery with Mike & Kylie from Pixel Magix keeping the mood fun and relaxed.

Their reception was held at Watershed Winery where some late afternoon shots were taken just before the sun disappeared.

Michael's dad has shot over 300 weddings and he said in his speech that this was the best he's been to. It was perfect. Congratulations Aimee and Michael!

Daniel & Kirsty

December 29, 2010

With the wedding taking place at a horse stud in the beautiful Margaret River region, Kirsty and her bridesmaids naturally arrived in a horse drawn carriage.

After the ceremony the guests were entertained by live music and served refreshments under the trees while the bridal party had photos taken on the property.

A spectacular reception followed in a magnificently decorated marquee by the lake.

I predict that Daniel's brother Matt will be highly sought after as an M.C. for years to come. He did a brilliant job!

Rob & Clare

Married November 27, 2010

Special permission was required to have a Roman Catholic ceremony outside a church, in this case overlooking the lake at Duckstein Brewery with Fr Vittorio presiding. Clare is the youngest of 10 children for Max and Margaret McGee, and Rob is Tony and Anne Johnston's youngest son.
Rob and Clare chose all their own songs to accompany their video, including this one by The Beautiful Girls.
Hi Mark,

We watched the DVD last night with all of the family and we were blown away. It is absolutely gorgeous and so good to be able to look back on the day and take it all in!

You have done an awesome job and we couldn't be happier with it. The music fitted in perfectly!

Thank you again, you have been fantastic!

Cheers,

Clare Johnston

Kris & Emma

November 20, 2010

What a fun-loving couple!

A special wedding for me for many reasons: It was the first of several weddings this season in the Manjimup area; not my usual stomping ground but one with so much potential.

It was my first at the beautiful Silkwood Winery - a great venue for a wedding.

It was also the first time I've had to drop my tyre pressures down to 10lbs in the course of filming a wedding, as Kris & Emma wanted their photos taken on top of the dunes at Yeagerup! Photographers Clare and John jumped aboard for the white knuckle ride as we hurtled up the massive wall of sand at full noise.

Any wedding that combines four wheel driving and sandboarding has got to be good I reckon.

Although it was very hot & humid and the Aussie flies were at full strength, it was a fantastic day. It was one of those weddings where everybody was into it.

Mark & Taryn Johnson

Married November 6, 2010

Mark & Taryn's wedding took place on a warm windy spring day in Bunbury's Pioneer Park. Shauna Willis conducted the ceremony, then some nearby locations around town were visited for photography. The windy beach was in contrast to the calm waters of the Jetty baths, where the reception was held at VAT2.
